Matthew Crook's profile

Malignant Neoplasms

It is estimated that there are ten million deaths from cancer across the world every year. This makes it the second deadliest killer in the world after cardiovascular disease. Cancer is more common in developed countries, mainly because other causes of death are more controlled in developed countries and people living in developed countries have longer life expectancies.

The following images are inspired by (but do not accurately depict) the different kinds of cancer that afflict human beings. If you find any of them to be ugly, let them represent the ugliness of the disease and the misery it inflicts on its victims and their families. If you find any of them to be beautiful, let that beauty be a tribute to the sufferers and their will to prevail.
