For this design project, I was tasked with selecting a typeface to conduct research on, and then create a poster for the typeface that illustrates the key characteristics of the font. I chose the Bembo typeface for my project because of the rich history behind the creation of the font.

Because I could only incorporate the textual forms as my graphic elements, I focused on emphasizing the curves and irregularities of the font, because the font was designed to extend past the baseline. By incorporating the creators of the typeface within the name of the font itself, I intended to highlight how both Stanley Morison and Francesco Griffo contributed to the creation of the typeface. While the title of the Bembo typeface was named after Pietro Bembo, because it was first utilized in the publication of his essay De Aetna, this poster aims to center attention to the creators of the typeface.
