Southern Dominican Republic, Barahona and Pedernales

Southern Dominican Republic, Barahona and Pedernales
Despite the fact that since I was little, I always had the opportunity to go to the South region of the Dominican Republic to visit my father's family, I feel that there is still a lot for me to explore and enjoy. Recently, I got to know the provinces of Barahona and Pedernales, where I could better understand what this beautiful area of the country has to offer.
Playa San Rafael, Barahona
One of the first sights was San Rafael Beach, leaving me speechless due to the beautiful contrast between the calm sea, the shy sky, and the imposing mountain to the left.

Something that caught my attention was the Los Cocos Wind Farm, which can be perfectly appreciated from the road and offers a spectacular view, where palm trees and wind turbines coexist.

And if you ask me about the predominant flora in the south, I will tell you that you will see many cacti and xerophytes in general due to the semi-arid environment. This is what makes this whole area unique compared to the rest of the country.

Finally, I visited Bayahíbe, which immediately became one of the beaches with the clearest and most beautiful waters I have ever seen, welcoming me with a radiant sun and calm waves.
