Website for the Agricultural Cooperative Košeca

Case Study of Agricultural Cooperative Košeca
Have you read about how we created a website for Koseca's Barnyard, photographed their homemade products, created a video, and managed their social networks?

We recommend reading the story:

We developed another website for the client who established the Koseca Barnyard brand. Our approach and quality of work for the Koseca Barnyard ("Košecký Dvor" in Slovak) project convinced him to entrust us with the website for the agricultural cooperative he manages.
The Agricultural Cooperative in Košeca (a.c. Koseca), thanks to the Košecký Manor project, stands out significantly from its competitors. Their desire to promote their work in a modern and thoughtful way sets them ahead. After extensive discussions, we agreed that most of the competitor's websites often don't appeal to their target audience or don't even identify one. We decided to approach it differently. A website's goal doesn't have to be just about who we are, what we do, and our contact details. Even an agricultural cooperative can present its work professionally and get closer to its customers or suppliers through its website.
We had a logo, but it underwent a refresh
The a.c. Koseca's logo was well-established, appearing on vehicles, buildings, company materials, and the original website. Our client was not unhappy with it; still, we suggested a slight revitalization. The agreement was that the overall appearance would be preserved, and even the colors would remain unchanged. The logo contained a wheat ear and two green fields symbolizing soil and cultivation. Nonetheless, it was oval-shaped, an element we planned to eliminate. We also changed the font and removed the "a. s." label from the logo. There's no need or mandate for this label in the logo. We shifted the green fields from the right to the center and simplified the wheat ear, making it fuller but shorter.

The logo now feels fresher, with balanced elements, and despite the unchanged color palette, it shines brighter. Removing the prominent oval made it more suitable for print or online materials. In our opinion, this refresh enhanced the logo, and the client was pleased. We retained and elevated the original essence of the brand.
Behold the initial logo of the agricultural coop.
And this is our modern reimaging of the brand—a significant facelift.
Graphics in the antique hand-drawn style
While searching for the website's visual appeal, our designer, Martin, suggested antique hand-drawn images of rural landscapes. Thanks to the Agricultural Cooperative Košeca zootechnician, who actively photographed animal and plant production, we also had many photos available. As with the Koseca Barnyard, we wanted to build the website using our images, avoiding stock photos, and showcasing real machinery and the actual land the cooperative manages. We liked the rural sketches and used them as inspiration for creating icons.

Regarding illustrated icons, the Agricultural Cooperative Košeca project was quite challenging. Our copywriter, Kristína, proposed website content where each crop would be presented individually through short paragraphs. To make the text visually appealing, she tasked the designer with creating 15 icons in the same style as the website's homepage. We needed icons for plants like Phacelia tanacetifolia, Spring vetch, and Buckwheat for reference. The designer diligently researched each plant's appearance and searched for similar vectors in graphic libraries. We believe the results are excellent. Consider if you've ever seen crops represented in such detail on another cooperative's website. We think, without exaggerating, that Agricultural Cooperative Košeca can inspire websites of similar companies or cooperatives.
Beautiful illustrations make no sense without good copy
As with Koseca Barnyard, our client, Mr. Cíbik, had a session with the copywriter. It was considerably longer; we discussed over three hours what he breeds, what he grows, when, how, and the methods involved. We intended to create pages detailing "a year in a given production," offering insights into the cooperative's work, possibly for new raw material buyers. We also wanted to connect with the idea of Koseca Barnyard, where we emphasize that all animals are ethically raised and fed with honest, homegrown food. After drafting the texts, several hours were spent fine-tuning them. We appreciated that the client cared about the facts and text because website content is always more important than mere design.
We supplemented individual text blocks with the prepared icons and photos of livestock or machinery at work. The images were of good quality; there was no need to reshoot anything or use stock photos. Hence, the page is visually authentic, detailed, and informative regarding its text.
The future marketing of agricultural cooperative in Košeca
While drafting the website content, we contemplated what makes this cooperative different, what they excel at, and how they can inspire others. The designer worked on icons for eight competitive advantages. When Agricultural Cooperative Košeca will need promotional text for flyers, brochures, or exhibitions, they can directly source from this webpage.
We can help your website with content and online presentation.
The website for Agricultural Cooperative Košeca exemplifies what online representation for a regional farmer or breeder can look like. It's modern, information-rich, and unique due to the rural style evident in its graphics.

We particularly valued two things about this project:

1. The client already had a website for this project, but after a positive experience with Košeca's Barnyard, he decided that Agricultural Cooperative Košeca deserved the same.

2. The client understood the power of copywriting. He was not afraid to invest in it, realizing that quality content creation might require, for instance, 16 hours of work or more.

3. He actively collaborated during the text creation, which is always a huge plus. Thumbs Up!
