Provocative concept to raise awareness about water value

CHALLENGE​​​​​​​
This scenario examined this time encompasses all the difficulties that many people, despite living in the 21st century, find themselves in extremely precarious situations.
Situations in which they are forced to travel for hours and hours to reach the few places where clean water is available because what is found where they live is absent or even contaminated.
RESULT
The faucet that has been designed aims to serve as a memorial to these situations of precariousness and raise awareness that water is not an abundant resource for everyone, but often a commodity for which one must even struggle and sweat to obtain.
The faucet is intended to be a challenge to the convenience and luxury of running water that many of us have. Its interaction and form are meant to compel the user to engage and exert effort to earn what they want to obtain.

The faucet is activated by a lever that, similar to "push-in" taps, returns to the initial position after a few seconds of activation. Like a traditional manual pump, it does not provide the option to adjust the water temperature or pressure; the flow is always at room temperature and of the same intensity.

The design recalls the shapes and structure of old manual pumps, drawing inspiration from the historical lines of Baroque, Neoclassical, and Art Deco styles.
This stylistic choice, with a strong vintage influence, challenges the luxury of a modernity in which everything is considered assured and guaranteed, reminding the user of the commitment and awareness that what they do has an impact and value.
