Becky Lamming's profile

Le 14 Ans de Tyabala: Documentary

My Role:  Lead Editor, Director.

The Project:  Editing together in continuous documentary narrative footage shot over fourteen years by various camera people.  A chronological piece, showing the growth of children from the most disenfranchised community in Guinea’s capital Conakry as they learn how to read music, speak French, craft story-songs and play together on stage.

The Impact: Shown at Conakry’s Franco-Guinean Cultural Center in a three-day program, and streamed online.  In talks to be picked up for TV screenings and Pan-African Film Festivals.
"Becky Lamming is passionate about cinema and possesses an innate sense of its language; through disparate clips, she can connect with people across cultures and, in delicate, sensitive ways, bring out their true nature onscreen, weaving lives into pure and simple beauty.”
