Voice in Palette
"Speak Your Color"

Overview
"Voice in Palette" is a poignant reflection on the systemic oppression and silencing of Black communities throughout history. Through a powerful interplay of colors, symbolism, and typography, this artwork echoes the resilience, strength, and undying spirit of Black voices yearning to be heard.

Objective:
To encapsulate the challenges faced by Black communities, while celebrating their resilience, rich culture, and continued struggle for equality and justice. This artwork seeks not only to touch viewers but to educate, inspire, and provoke conversations about racial justice.

Design Process & Conceptualisation

Color Palette: The Deep Forest Green of the hand stands as a testament to the depth, richness, and strength of Black identities. The Creamy Beige backdrop symbolizes the systemic and often muted canvas of history against which Black voices have continuously tried to assert themselves. Bright Orange in the nail polish and bubbles represents hope, fervor, and the burning passion of a community striving for recognition and equality.

Symbolism: The rising hand, reminiscent of gestures made during protests and public addresses, embodies the ceaseless quest for justice, representation, and equality. The fiery nail polish and bubbles amplify the echoing calls for change, emphasizing the shared history, pain, and aspirations of Black communities.

Typography: The choice of "LT Glockenspiel" was deliberate. Its distinct characteristics complement the artwork's serious undertone, providing a grounding effect that ties together the elements and reinforces the narrative of resistance.

Placement & Composition: The dominant hand serves as a representation of Black communities and their significant, albeit often overlooked, contribution to global narratives. The bubbles, strategically placed, underscore the essence of shared sentiments and collective resilience.
Conclusion
"Voice in Palette" is not merely an art piece but a narrative of an entire community's journey. Through its intricate design, rich symbolism, and the intentional use of the "LT Glockenspiel" font, the artwork serves as a clarion call for understanding, empathy, and collective action towards a just and equal society.
