UKRAINIAN FOLK MUSIC INSTRUMENTS

On the left is a Surma. It is an ancient wooden wind instrument with a loud timbre. It was most widespread in the Cossack era and belonged to regimental music.
On the right is the Bandura. It is a symbolic musical instrument for Ukraine.

Bubon is a wooden rim made of wood and covered with dry leather. It is an integral part of folk instrumental bands that perform music for dances. Svyril is a folk wind instrument similar to a longitudinal flute, at right.​​​​​​​

Drymba is one of the oldest musical instruments. Archaeologists believe that it has been known since the Late Neolithic period. It was the main musical instrument at parties
in the Carpathian villages.
The Kozobas is one of the newest Ukrainian folk instruments, which appeared only in the late 1960s. It is popular in folk bands in the west of Ukraine.
