The breif was to create a poster for an exhibit for the works of the 'enfant terrible' of modern swiss typography. Those who at an early age broke the established rules.

To break the rules for myself as well, I decided to follow the brief but entirely in Arabic and fully analog. Wolfgang Weingart's early and most prominant works had significant inspirations from his trips to what he refers to as the Near East. Mostly cities and deserts of Syria and Jordan. Finding typographic inspirations from the urban architecture as well as the views from up above. And translating those using metal types in the printing press. Using them in their wrong forms, sides and rotations creating whimsical yet bold results.
