FPD Annual Report 2014

FPD aims to build a better society in South Africa through education and capacity development. Founded in 1997 FPD is a private higher educational institute that focuses on the three areas of higher education: teaching and learning, research and community engagement. A critical component of FPD’s activities is the development of grassroots NGOs, Aids and TB treatment and care (to date more than 390 000 patients have been treated) and the development of institutional capacity in the public sector. This is done using a technical assistance model.

This is also in line with FPD’s aim to provide comprehensive curriculum of development courses in management and professional skills. These courses are customised to the needs of practitioners and managers. Educational products are presented through formal postgraduate qualifications, short courses, in-house courses and conferences. To date FPD has trained over 250 000 students across 16 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

FPD’s mission is to catalyse social change through developing people, strengthening systems and providing innovative solutions.
