ABC (Auto-Electrical Services) | Signage Design

For this college based project, we were approached by the owner of a local auto-repair shop in a bid that we could possibly rebrand the sign for the business that would capture the eye of the pedestrians and drivers that were constantly going by in the streets. This would prove a challenge, as a new and simple design would need to be easily legible and at a set size, especially for all of the vehicles driving by who may only capture a glimpse for just a few seconds of the sign itself.

My design takes on a style that is both flat and using only two colours (black and white), I felt that using a dark colour (black) would give a sort of 'industrial' like feel towards the viewer, especially with the help of a textured background that would often be seen within the interior of a car, or perhaps any vehicle-repair related equipment.

This is also one of the first projects in which I started incorporating vectors into my work, as opposed to using simple shapes.
