JAGUAR

The purpose of this project was to highlight an important figure in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, the jaguar. I drew up two illustrations that represent the feline in his home, an exuberant nature full of textures. The study was centered around analyzing and transforming organic shapes into stylized shapes.
Understanding how the jaguar's anatomy works was the initial step. I searched for images to study its silhouette (the first image below) and adapted the scenario to emphasize the animal; I didn't want to make it too tedious, so I added different plans (second image below). At last, I refined the draft that was previously very scrawled (as shown in the third image below).
After examining the finished first illustration, I came to the conclusion that the project deserved a second image (because I had enjoyed the process and the outcome). This time, I made the choice to bring the figure closer to the viewer in order to showcase its ferocious teeth. Although I didn't want to cause fear with this, I believe that the square and pointed shapes lead to a favourable interpretation.
That's it.
Thanks for looking! :-)
