Designing a User-Friendly Experience for Cryptocurrency Users
Introduction:
Smokybet is an online casino offering various casino and sports games to its users, which accepts deposits in multiple Cryptocurrencies. As a freelance designer, I was approached by the Smokybet team to do the product & visual design of the platform to cater to users who prefer to use Cryptocurrencies for their transactions and betting. The product had to be visually appealing, user-friendly, accessible and secure.
Research:
To ensure that the website caters to the needs of Cryptocurrency users, I conducted extensive research. The research included competitive research, user surveys, creating user personas, and user journeys. Through this research, I identified key areas for improvement. I found that simplifying the Cryptocurrency transaction and betting process, providing clear information and guidance on using Cryptocurrencies, and designing appealing visual content for the website were important for Cryptocurrency users.

Design:
Based on my research findings, I designed a product that caters to users who prefer Cryptocurrencies for their transactions and betting. The design included a single, integrated transaction and betting platform that provides clear information and guidance on using Cryptocurrencies for both casino and sports betting. I also created a design system, two color palettes for the platform's UI design, and marketing materials incl. the website banners to improve the visual aspects of the platform. I conducted user testing and refined the design based on users' feedbacks.

Challenges:
The design process faced several challenges such as complying with legal and regulatory requirements, providing secure transactions and protecting user data, designing an optimized and responsive platform that is user-friendly and visually appealing, and balancing visuals and functionality to meet both user needs and business goals.
Design Solutions:
To address these challenges, I created a clean and modern user interface that is responsive and optimized for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. The homepage features multiple prominent call-to-action buttons that direct users to different pages, such as buy Crypto, casino, sports, sponsorship, and learn more. Additionally, users have the freedom to customize their browsing experience by choosing between dark mode or light mode theme. The betting process is simple and intuitive on this platform, with clear instructions and a secure transaction process using Cryptocurrencies.
Implementation:
The final design was delivered to the web developers for coding and integration into the website under development. A comprehensive rollout plan was developed that included user communication and training materials to help guide users through the new design and the use of Cryptocurrencies for both casino and sports betting on the website. I collaborated with stakeholders, product managers, designers and developers on this project.
Results:
As the designed Smokybet website has not yet been launched, there are no concrete results to report at this time. However, based on user testing and feedback, the design is expected to provide a good experience for the users who want to bet online and use Cryptocurrency payment. The design is anticipated to simplify the Cryptocurrency transaction and betting process, provide clear information and guidance on using Cryptocurrencies, and improve the visual aspects of the platform. Overall, the design process focused on providing a user-friendly experience that is visually appealing, responsive, and secure. The research conducted provided valuable insights that were used to design a platform that caters to the needs and preferences of Cryptocurrency users. The final design is expected to provide a seamless and engaging experience for users who want to bet on casino and sports games using Cryptocurrencies.
