INTERIOr Concept
MAMA ROMA is the largest chain of Italian restaurants with more than twenty-five years of history, with its own features and rules. For us, the creation of several interiors for a chain is a good case study and a real creative challenge,
how to give a new interpretation of the interior concept of an established brand, its development and level up, while maintaining the “timeless” spirit and relevance for at least another 25 years.
The flagship interior in our design was the restaurant on Zakharyevskaya Street 16, located in the historical center
of St. Petersburg near the Tauride Garden in the former apartment building of N.M. Nelgovskaya on several floors.
The architecture of the space with high ceilings, large floor-to-ceiling windows and piquant historical details really helped us when creating the interior, inspiring us to rethink the old and the new.
The interior concept is based on the legacy of the brilliant Venetian architect, designer and scientist Carlo Scarpa.
The modernist spirit, painstaking work with details, the union of old and new, where a unique atmosphere is born, free from the turbulence of time - this is so close to us, and we have embodied this in the interior.
Building
INTERIOR DESIGN
The hospitable spirit of sunny Italy can be felt everywhere. From the entrance we are greeted by an impressive “gurmetto” island table, made of solid natural marble in a pearl tone: this is a place for displaying gastronomy products, daily specials and welcoming guests. Most of the rooms are covered with terrazzo floors with marble inserts,
and the walls are decorated with hand-molded ceramic tiles. Soft accents include brass elements and inserts, living plants and clever fittings. Of course, all furniture (with the exception of tables and chairs from the Pedrali factory)
and decorative lamps are made according to our design and are unique developments for the project.
The combination of details and nuances, united by a common architectural spirit based on the Venetian master, complemented by the warmth of a live restaurant - this is what creates this unique feeling and the hospitable grandiose atmosphere that this interior certainly has! The new flagship became the basis for several of our subsequent works
for the network, each of which acted as a “variation on a theme”, independently developing one or another idea,
but united by a common visual code.
MAMA ROMA – это крупнейшая сеть итальянских ресторанов с более чем двадцатипятилетней историей,
со своими фишками и правилами. Для нас создание нескольких интерьеров сети – хороший кейс и настоящий творческий вызов, как дать новое прочтение интерьерной концепции устоявшегося бренда, его развитие
и level up, сохранив, при этом, дух «вне времени» и актуальность, минимум, еще на 25 лет.
Флагманским интерьером в нашем исполнении стал ресторан на Захарьевской улице 16, расположенный
в историческом центре Санкт-Петербурга вблизи Таврического сада в бывшем доходном доме Н.М.Нельговской на нескольких этажах. Архитектура помещения с высокими потолками, большими витринными окнами в пол
и пикантными историческими деталями действительно помогла нам при создании интерьера, вдохновив
на переосмысление старого и нового.
В основу интерьерной концепции легло наследие гениального венецианского архитектора, дизайнера и ученого Карло Скарпа. Модернистский дух, кропотливая работа с деталями, союз старого и нового, где рождается уникальная атмосфера, свободная от турбулентности времени, - это так близко нам, и это мы воплотили
в интерьере.
Гостеприимный дух солнечной Италии ощущается везде. Со входа нас встречает внушительный стол-остров «гурметто», выполненный из массива натурального мрамора жемчужного тона: это место для выкладки продуктов гастрономии, предложений дня и встречи гостя. Большая часть залов покрыта полами терраццо
с мраморными вставками, а стены украшает керамическая плитка ручной формовки. Мягкими акцентами выступают латунные элементы и вставки, живые растения и хитрые фурнитурные приемы. Разумеется,
вся мебель (за исключением подстольев и стульев от фабрики Pedrali) и декоративные светильники выполнены по нашему дизайну и являются уникальными разработками под проект.
Совокупность деталей и нюансов, объединенных общим архитектурным духом по мотивам венецианского мастера, дополненных теплом живого ресторана – вот что создает это неповторимое чувство и гостеприимно-грандиозную атмосферу, которая, безусловно, есть в этом интерьере! Новый флагман стал основой
для нескольких наших последующих работ для сети, каждая из которых выступила «вариацией на тему», самостоятельно развивающей ту или иную идею, но объединенной общим визуальным кодом.
