Clémence CHARVIN's profile

Postcards Paris-Groningen

As a graphic designer, I am always seeking inspiration from my surroundings and for this
project, I was drawn to the architecture of both cities. By carefully selecting and merging
iconic buildings from each city, I aimed to create a series of postcards that would capture the
essence of both places while also showcasing my design skills.
My selection of buildings was based on both their architectural style and their purpose. For
instance, I chose to merge the Eiffel Tower with the Martini Tower to create a unique design
that reflects my personal connection to both cities. Similarly, I combined The Forum and the
Centre Pompidou to highlight the importance of culture and education in both Paris and
Groningen.

But this project is about more than just design. It's about making connections between people. In
today's digital age, sending postcards is becoming a lost art. However, as an Erasmus student
feeling homesick, I wanted to use this project as a way to share my experiences with my loved
ones and help them see these beautiful cities through my eyes. Furthermore, I decided to really
blend the buildings together to create a new one and I decided not to have a demarcation
between the two cities in order to create a whole new building, a new home, my home.
