Ce projet découle d’un travail de recherche libre sur la fibre de rotin, et notamment quant à sa valorisation par le design.
Le studio Fritsch-Durisotti a développé un langage où la fibre naturelle s’associe de façon sensible, durable et confortable à une structure légère et aérienne. Les courbes sont volontairement douces et fluides, mettant en valeur la sensualité et la chaleur de la matière.
Le procédé constructif imaginé par le studio permet de réduire le temps de main d’œuvre pour une fabrication réalisée en Europe. Il supprime tout assemblage par ligature au profit d’un système d’agrafes intégrées à la structure en acier. Ainsi, l'absence de colle pour lier la fibre naturelle avec le piétement en métal, inscrit le projet Spline dans une démarche vertueuse de gestion du cycle de vie.
Deux gammes sont disponibles :
- en joncs en rotin naturel pour la gamme « IN »
- en joncs en synthétique pour la gamme « OUT ».
La structure en acier inoxydable est commune aux deux gammes.

This project stemmed from free research work on the rattan fibre, and especially its enhancement through design.
The Fritsch-Durisotti studio developed a language in which natural fibre is combined in a sensitive, lasting and comfortable manner to a light and aerial structure. The curves are voluntarily gentle and fluid, highlighting the sensuality and the warmth of the material.
The constructive process imagined by the studio enables to reduce labour time for production carried out in Europe. It removes assemblies by ligature replaced by a system of staples incorporated in the steel structure. The absence of glue to bond the natural fibre with the metal base thus places the Spline project in a virtuous approach of life cycle management.
Two ranges are available :
- made of synthetic rushes for the “OUT” range.
- made of natural rattan rushes for the “IN” range
- made of synthetic rushes for the “OUT” range.
