Lily and Kitt

Lily and Kitt is a craft workshop and crochet brand who was in need of a brand identity to help attract their target customer to their events. The brand is built upon the names of the owner's cats - who feature heavily in the company's social media - and the owner wanted this to come through in the identity created.
Early concepts:

The owner wanted something bright and colourful - specifically featuring cats - to give prospective clients an idea of her personality. She was a big fan of retro styling, retrowave, synth and tattoos; elements of herself that attendees of her workshops were bound to see and experience. I tried to work these idea into a concept that encapsulated all of this.
Final design concept:

After reviewing the initial concepts, I felt the cat-ness of the designs made the brand feel more like a pet-based product than a craft and experience brand. So I reworked the iconography to be more prominently craft-based and used typography to carry feline elements in a more stylised way - with further cat-inspired elements that could be employed within the right contexts.
