DOOMBLADE KEY ART
The video game publisher ICEBERG INTERACTIVE asked me to create the main key art of their next indie game: DOOMBLADE. A fast-paced metroidvania with an incredible cryptic setting.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?
While the game is in 2D, I wanted to do a dynamic shot so it match Doomblade’s energy and would create more depth and possibility to showcase enemies and environment.
On the first round of rough I submit one high angle-shot and one low-angle shot, focusing on the character jumping. The gameplay is aerial so it seems important to show the character in the air
-
Iceberg Interactive chose the low-angle shot so I started to add some colors to enhance the mood.
Some feedbacks later, we decided to change character posing. Then I change some creatures placement to creates more depth and started to add details in the background.

I kept going adding details, boosting contrast, refining shapes…

And here is the final version:
THANK YOU !
