SPM Identity Concepts
Concept One: The Lion
The lion has a very strong symbolism of power and beauty that goes back a long way, to the caves of Chauvet, through most of the European heraldry and countless examples of modern depictions. However, the most interesting association the lion brings to mind is that of the Medici family, the wealthiest, most powerful family of the state-city of Florence. The Medicis were patrons of the arts and sciences and sponsored some of the world's most famous artists: Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci are well-known examples.

The Medici heraldry is complex and changes freqently along the decades, however some of the best known symbols of the Medici House were the Medici lions - a duo of statues originally guarding the entrance to Villa Medici and currently displayed at Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence.

These lions have been the inspiration for this context: in the SPM context, the association makes sense, in that the guidance and help SPM can give its talent can help them rise to prominence and success.

The lion imagery has been interpreted in a modern fashion, to allude to heritage, but not display it openly: a contemporary feeling is essential to this brand.
Concept Two: The Umbrella
A bit more retro in feel, this concept is based on a visual hint to the Singing in the Rain classic that needs no explanation. The movie was probably one of the best examples of multiple types of talent ("triple threat" of acting, dancing and singing that O'Connor and Gene Kelly so excelled at) as well as a story that featured an extra, a stunt man, being promoted to first rank celebrity. A star come from humble backgrounds despite his boasting of "best schools" and "society friends". An accomplished professional SPM would be proud to represent and most actors today should hope to emulate.

And so this concept is playful and friendly, while rich in history and meaning. perhaps less assertive than the others, but definitely more endearing.
Concept Three: The Diamond Lion
A different take on the lion concept, this is a more stylised version, where the lion physiognomy is barely hinted at, and represented in an angular, diamond-like shape. The printing should include silver ink for the mark as well as a spot UV effect for the watermarks (e.g on business cards, posters etc).
