Brand Consistency and Redesign Proposal KTN Kenya

With a brand as old as the Kenya Television Network ( KTN ), consistency is a key part of negotiating a viewer's attention.

When re-developing the brand, it is essentia to keep key elements the same. In the newly redesigned logo, to my eyes, almost all the elements are thrown out the window trading for a "New Look".

Whilst this may seem like something great to you, to me, this has not been correctly done. The new redesigned logo looks like something out of a Microsoft Word, word art file, with little or no attention paid to detail. The Enhanced KTN brand is now a lower cased text which to me amplifies the "I'm not sure i'm a known brand and think i'll just lie down and die." look.

I can understand the need to want to go with developing a trendy brand logo, which I believe the designer may have attempted to get to, but in doing so has completely ignored the client, the individual who identifies with this almost 3 Decade old brand.

In an attempt to help salvage one of my favourite TV stations image, I have put some time in to what I believe the brand should resemble with the same principles applied from the very first logo to date.

I do hope you contact me to get your visuals done dearest KTN, you're really close to my heart.

NB: Changing your logo to resemble my attempt without my permission will lead to issues. Contact me on info@megapixels.co.ke and we can work something out.
My attempt at salvaging the logo.
Finally, if you're going to rebrand, do it at a go. Don't start making changes to your social media sites or website slowly like you've got here on Twitter, you'll end up confusing your users.
