Terra na Orelha do Mar
Terra na Orelha do Mar [Land at the Ear of the Sea] is a pluridisciplinary approach regarding the understanding of the Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim (RNSCM) and its salt marshes, located in the south of Portugal. In these wet lands, the project aims to invite the biodiversity present in artistic practices, centered in or around the relationship with the landscape, to listen, give voice, and shape to the biodiversity of the RNSCM, its water systems and the varied species that visit and nest there. This is a platform where different artistic languages are put into practice — the singularity of a pluricultural territory (instead of monocultural), where art and agroecology intertwine, as well as crafts and anthropology, conservation and knowledge/culture building, over the land that is at the ear of the sea.
Each poster was created taking into account each of the artistic residencies that it intended to promote, but also contemplating the Terra na Orelha do Mar project as a whole.
