Jofil Angelo Agrupis's profile

Li Ka-Shing Study Area Furniture

The design furniture was inspired by the living story of Li Ka-Shing
from rags to riches and also his practicality and eminence.
The interplay of these contrasts infused the design with boldness
and simplicity in its form and choice of materials.

The furniture design is an elegant solution that allows seamless experience
about movement and just being dynamic for very long hours
while allowing my client to experience Forbidden Palace right in his study area.

The concept is being shaped and defined by three inseparable factors,
one is spatial factor, my client and his study area, second is “self-time” factor,
my client and his personal time, and third is technological factor, my client
and the technology to aid his productivity.
Which set the idea of how could we redesign the relationship between my client
and the furniture which gives an elegant space for his personal time
and all his activities set to engage with technology seamlessly integrated with the furniture.
Including auto document scanner that instantly send and receive documents right on his desk.
A charging pad to provide easy charge for his mobile phone after long hours of phone calls.
Digital watch is placed in the middle of the desk to check time with ease.
And smart desk light that adjust to my clients mood.

The profound technology are embedded in the furnitures, not to celebrate the technology
but the idea is that before my client come in his study space,
he sees a design yet simple but dynamic in its simplicity.

The proposed materials will be glossy finish dark brown walnut and rosewood,
glossy brushed gold, frost glass and replaceable chinese paintings for the screens,
cream fabric pad for the chair’s cushion.

A design furniture that imbues my client’s stature
and eminence with the boldness and elegance of the design.
