Personal Project; The Unconditional Answer

This was a commission from a friend of mine and she just wanted a painting of her cat, Maeby. The title is mostly a play on words (if you haven't noticed - Maybe).
The concept to this piece is just little explorers in search of the unconditional answer. Little explorers was just a fun concept that I thought of because the husband of client is a researcher and it would be quite cute to turn them into that. Colour wise is because Maeby was a rescue from where I used to work at and she wore a red collar which was very striking and suited her a lot. The yellows are simply to match her eyes.
I illustrated Maeby with the glint in her eyes as she is known to be a little bit playful. As for why the flowers are tulips, I wanted it to represent the unconditional love that my client had for Maeby. The first time she saw her, she fell in love and has been chasing to bring Maeby home for the longest time. I would say that this piece is also a congratulatory message from me to her in the form of art!
