Museum Hakka Indonesia

The 352-page hardback book features over 500 images and trilingual narrative scripts, features the Chinese Hakka Indonesian journey from the past, present, and future. It follows their migration, contributions to the nation, daily life, cuisine, prominent figures, and more. The primary mission of this book is to preserve and promote Hakka heritage, fostering a deeper appreciation of the Hakka people within Indonesian society.

It was a long project, and it took a lot of work to do, mainly because there was so much content. I worked closely with the author to structure the book’s flow. We decided to start with the history section before diving into the details of daily life and culture. The book jacket displays a photograph of The Museum, while the cover stands out with vibrant Chinese red and gold typography. Graphically, the book adopts a clean and modern layout, making it easy and enjoyable to read.
