WALL PANELLING
Residential Villa

Exquisite wall panelling cum ceiling designed for residential villa. Concept of design is correlated to solid-void concept where the panelled area provides the solid mass and the sleek plain walls form the void. They divide the living room into different regions, the conversational and entertainment regions respectively.
Vertical rafters, the key element of design run along the walls guiding the users eyes towards the zenith - the magnificent chandelier at the center of the ceiling. This double heighted majlis is encapsulated by the panelling, covering the walls and ceiling, hence creating an interesting play of volume within the space. The wooden ceiling is overlapped with gypsym ceiling work, dividing the room into two entities - the 'solid' wooden panelled area and the 'void' composing of plain walls and gypsum ceiling. The rafters are fixed onto wooden plywood sheet cladding extending towards the upper walls, were it also provides two screened openings so that users can view the majlis from the upper floor.
