Placemaking Cookbook
Placemaking for Inclusion (PM4I) is an Erasmus+ project with a consortium formed by 6 partners (see bottom of this page for links of interest). It gathers together a group of professionals in Urbanism, Architecture, Youth Workers and Educators.
The cookbook contains a compilation of 18 placemaking tools that have been created and tested by the partners. It's designed to be used by Youth Workers along with local youth groups to assess and experience our urban environments.
Every recipe is unique: with its own storytelling introduction and advice and a set of unique illustrations that give a mood to it and it helps the understanding of the instructions.
Each recipe contains a list of ingredients needed or recommended for its implementation.
Some tools are more simple and some require more time to be implemented. They are meant as inspiration and they can be adapted to the needs of the local community - just as you would do with any recipe. Here we have some more examples of these tools.
Heaven and Hell was created by the young participants of The Academy for Urban Action, a project from Urban Foxes Brussels. They came out with this activity as a way to analyse the spaces around them and the way they affect them.

Jane Jacobs was a very important figure fighting for more inclusive cities with a very revolutionary community-based approach to city building
