Music Logo Revamp Concept
Careless is an independent record label committed to creating progressive content through a platform that allows artists to fully invest in their creativity and growth. Started by artists with a goal to break ground and pave the way for the industry, we aim to deepen and shape the culture through the content we produce. (from Careless Music, about us).
I wanted to make something that follows these principles:
Versatile. While the label is important, the people are the stars so I wanted something that we can play with and change up to work with the different artists.
Keep It Stupid Simple (K.I.S.S.). Make it clear (but still unique) enough to be see it in a keychain and a billboard.
Own something. The less (than) symbol is associated with just math. No big brand has built that connection with the symbol yet; now, it's part of Careless. Along with the custom type, every part of the logo is unique to the brand.
Clear roots. What else says music other than musical notes. I carved each letter from a couple of stylized notes.
