Satisfying Stamping
A YouTube channel, Sunny Day Stamping, asked me to make a video showcasing some of their products in use. You can watch the final video here:
I wanted the video to be up close and focus on every intricate detail. I accomplished this through two things; the cinematography and the sound design.
To make the cinematography feel up close, I opened up the aperture of my camera to get a nice crisp focal point with the foreground and background blurred out. For some shots, this blew the highlights out, so I used a neutral density filter to bring the exposure down.
I wanted the sounds to be rich and satisfying, but I knew I couldn't feasibly achieve that while simultaneously capturing good quality video. I decided to record all of the sounds separately and sync them with the video in post-production.
To finish, I colorgraded the footage to give it a soft and cozy feeling.
