Cadbury Roses Tin 2012

The task was to create a ribbon and a bow that wrapped around the circumference and lid of the tin. The ribbon was created in Cinema 4D very easily with a highly detailed texture bump map within a velvet material. Then the bow too was created in Cinema 4d, but this was a longer process of modelling the correct flowing ribbons that were required from the specified reference material/moodboard. Lighting was a simple setup using global illumination and ambient occlusion to give the depth and contrast to the bow, rendered in a layered multi pass allowing for colour balancing and tweaking later on.

The beauty of using CG for this detail means that Cadbury could retain the use of the image instead of relying on stock photography and the minefield of royalties and usage when printing in large volumes. In addition CG allows for amends on the fly and capturing exactly whats required instead of having to source bows and expensive reshoots.
