♥ This was my response to the September Atlanta Writers Club meeting prompt, "dawn." We were invited to use this prompt in order to craft a story of 50 words or less. I struggle with such restricted forms as short fiction, so I do this as a way to build my skills and stretch those flash fiction muscles!  ♥ 




Earth’s top biomedical engineer just rigged my ventilator to “fail” at sunrise. 
The First Lady coordinated this in order to respect her husband’s final wishes. 
With me alive and in power, this nation can’t ascend from the rubble of my presidency. 
My first—final—unselfish act is to wait eagerly for dawn.
