LOSTARK Cinematic Trailer

   


We participated on making the cinematic trailer for the LostArk's new Thaemine update.​​​​​​​

    
   
We have participated on developing the concept and matte painting throughout the trailer. From lifeless land of Petrania at the beginning, to the battlefield that ends with the horror of Baratron. We were also responsible for making key shots and previz for certain shots.
It was important for us to desaturate colors throughout the trailer to represent the heavy atmostphere of the master of darkness; Thaemine.

Thaemine's skill "Bullet time" was produced and previsualized by our team.

 


Petrania
The colorless barren wasteland where seemingly the only thing that exists is the darkness from the primal age, there is a pit that reaches to the deepest surface. This was the concept we were going with and it led us to design the environment that lacks color and also fascinating, yet contains oppressive ambience in it.




Southern Bern​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​Scaling the environment and setting the time of the day were considered when we designed the battlefield in Southern Bern. After rendering the environment, it went through the process of retouching in Photoshop, and later imported into Blender so we can observe it in real time which made the communication with the supervisor very efficient.




Nahinir
A shining sword appears against the dark magic.
The most desperate hour, light shines down to the allies and turns the tide of war.




Bullet Time
We were in charge of producing the bullet time sequence.



We approached the scene with several different concepts, and ended up mixing them together in one piece.
Although the sequence was very short but we were keen to bring good amount of visual impact.
And it was the main objective when it came to previsualization stage.
This was Thaemine's heavy blow to his opponent, and the process of charging it needed enough time and our intension was to bring tension in this seqeunce.





Baratron
Baratron arrives to end the battle. And designing such powerful energy was crucial
because it needs to overwhelm and terrorize enemy soldiers without any effort. 
We were in charge of making the guide of the eye motion to make it easier for the FX team to develope.





Clashing Blades

Two blades colliding was one of the most important scenes in the trailer. And we imagined the concepts of how it would look like when these opposite nature of characters fight against each other.​​​​​
