OBE(Outcome Based Education) System

Product Based Project
Introduction
Project Overview

The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) System is a software solution that simplifies and automates educational outcome management in universities and institutions using OBE methods. It replaces manual and Excel-based processes with a user-friendly web app. The system has four modules for students, faculty, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), and administrators, addressing the unique needs of each educational stakeholder.

Problem Statement

Most universities and institutions using Outcome-Based Education (OBE) lack an efficient system to manage and assess educational outcomes. They strive to enhance their OBE systems but lack a central solution. OBE prioritizes student outcomes to improve education quality and meet global standards. Automating the OBE system is crucial to ease responsibilities for academic staff, students, and management teams.
Problem Objectives

The objectives of this project are as follows:
Automate the Evaluation Processes for Teachers: Develop a system for teachers to automate the assessment of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), simplifying tracking and evaluation.

Enhance Student Engagement: Create user-friendly interfaces for students to access and understand their learning outcomes, promoting ownership and accountability.

Ensure Secure Access: Implement robust user authentication processes to maintain data security and privacy.

Automate the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Process: Enable institutions to automate the CQI process, including the evaluation of PLOs, CLOs, and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), streamlining quality assurance efforts.
Research Phase
Understanding User Needs

Before beginning the design process, extensive research was conducted to understand the specific needs and pain points of educational institutions using OBE methodologies. Interviews were conducted with key stakeholders, including faculty members, administrators, and quality assurance personnel. The research identified the following key requirements:

1. Efficient tracking and assessment of PLOs and CLOs.
2. Streamlined faculty management and advisory batch support.
3. Quality assurance through QEC evaluations.
4. User-friendly admin controls for course, department, and batch management.
5. Customizability to accommodate institution-specific KPIs.
Stakeholder Involvement

The design process involved continuous feedback and approval from nine different stakeholders. This ensured that the final design aligns with the diverse needs and expectations of the target audience.

Conclusion

The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) System is a responsive web application designed to address the specific needs of universities and institutions that have adopted OBE methodologies. The user-centric design process, continuous stakeholder involvement, and robust functionality make it a valuable tool for improving educational outcomes tracking and quality assurance.

As development progresses, we look forward to bringing this innovative solution to educational institutions, empowering them to efficiently manage and evaluate PLOs, CLOs, and PEOs, ultimately enhancing the quality of education they provide.
