Branding project for my sister's latest venture in glass & mixed media arts, Ancient Truth Investigators
The project tells the story of an archeological dig uncovering crystal pyramids containing the origins of an ancient species called the Sea People—think mermaids in reverse. The art is presented as artifacts taking the shape of crowns, tools, crystals, and jewelry. The opening exhibit, entitled His Majesty, was a great start to the story and was accompanied by a trifold brochure explaining the Sea Peoples connection to chakras.
The mark was created with the below four pieces in mind. First, the crystal and pyramid directly reference the content. The crest represents the identity of a king in her opening exhibit title "His Majesty." The Eye of Providence hints at an ever watching eye on the truth of all things.
I chose the typeface Baron Neue by Frank Hemmekam for it's huge variety of alternate glyphs that resembles an ancient writing form without getting in the way of legibility. Its heavy strokes and strong angles also aid in the stability of the logo.
