Esta semana en Graz, me encontré con una caja llena de Legos. Inmediatamente me puse a jugar y pensé, ¿Qué puedo hacer con esto? Si voy a construir algo, ¿Qué hago? ¿Por qué pensar chico? Voy a construir máquinas que podrían arreglar el mundo.
Quizás suene un poco arrogante, pero bueno, ¿Qué tiene de malo el querer un mundo mejor? En especial si involucra juegos, imaginación y ganas de creer que se puede estar mejor.
A ver si dejamos de pensar como viejos, volvemos a divertirnos y dejamos de creer que el dinero es lo que nos da la felicidad.

This week in Graz I found myself in front of a box full of Lego. I immediately started playing with it and thought to myself: what can I do here? If I’m going to build something, what should I do? Why think small? Why don’t I build machines that could fix the world?
A few years ago I read this article in El Mundo and it confirmed my long held belief that the problem isn’t in thinking, but in doing.
Perhaps it sounds a little arrogant, but really, what’s so bad about wanting a better world? Especially if it involves games, imagination and the desire to believe that things could be better.
Let’s see if we can stop our old-fashioned ideas and go back to having fun and to stop believing that money is what makes us happy.
The Ray Plant.
This vehicle studies the earth below it and emits a fertilizing ray, which immediately generates seeds capable of producing plants or trees, depending on the soil. This process is fed by CO2, which is breathed out by all types of animals. More trees means more air for us to breathe. The vehicle will be driven by a Cypress with the necessary licence for heavy machinery.

Este vehículo, estudia la tierra que tiene debajo y produce un rayo fertilizante que genera inmediatamente semillas capaces de generar plantas o árboles, dependiendo del suelo. Se alimenta del CO2 que producen los animales de cualquier tipo. Mientras más árboles, más aire para respirar. Lo maneja un Ciprés que tiene un carnet de conducir apto para maquinaria pesada.
The Gasehicle
As the name suggests, this vehicle runs off gases. Produced by its own driver, that is. The fuel is mostly made up of vegetables, although that obviously depends on each driver’s stomach, and the vehicle can reach speeds of up 80Km/h with a propulsion of 1 F/h.* CO2 emissions are non-existent and the fuel has a faint smell of lavender. A nice way to slow down global warming, don’t you think?
*Yes, that’s Farts per hour. What did you think it was?
El Gasículo.
Tal como lo dice su nombre, este vehículo funciona con gases. Producidos por su conductor. El combustible incluye principalmente legumbres, aunque obviamente depende del estómago de cada uno. Puede alcanzar una velocidad de 80 Km/H con una propulsión de 1 Pe*/H. Las emisiones de CO2, son nulas y con un cierto aroma a lavanda. Una forma de frenar el calentamiento global un poco, no?

The Money Tree Converter
What this vehicle does is convert normal trees into ones that generate money. How does it work? It’s simple – a radar locates people with more than € 1,000,000 in their back accounts, and using Wi-Fi, turns the excess money into seeds from which trees capable of generating € 10,000 grow. Giving an opportunity to the whole population, and making sure that subsidies aren’t only for a lucky few.

Lo que hace este vehículo, es convertir árboles comunes, en árboles que generan dinero. ¿Cómo funciona? Muy simple, tiene un radar que localiza a gente con más de 1.000.000 de euros en su cuenta bancaria, y mediante una especie de wi-fi desmaterializa el sobrante en pequeñas semillas que generan arboles capaces de generar 10.000 por árbol. Dando la oportunidad a toda la población y ayudando a que los subsidios, no sean sólo para algunos.
The Reciprocal Ray
This ray, which can be mounted on any type of vehicle, instantly produces the sensation of feeling what others feel, through our actions. For example, if I treat somebody badly, I will also feel his or her pain. If I do not listen or understand your point of view, I also feel your frustration. The best thing about this apparatus is that it works between genders, meaning that men can feel what women feel like when they are undervalued and given fewer opportunities.

Este rayo, que puede ser montado en cualquier tipo de vehículo, genera instantáneamente la sensación de sentir lo que los otros sienten, con nuestros actos. Osea que si yo maltrato a una persona, yo también siento ese dolor. Si yo no la escucho o no entiendo su punto de vista, también siento su frustración. Lo mejor de este aparato es que funciona entre géneros, haciendo que los hombres sientan lo que sienten las mujeres al ser infravaloradas y con menos oportunidades.
The Rain Maker
Just as its name implies, the Rain Maker makes it rain over a 25km radius. There is one complication, however, it only works when it’s absolutely necessary. It can’t be used excessively, as people might think. It has a sensor which measures the region’s need for water, and makes it rain for the required time, without a single drop wasted. The water that is produced, aside from helping fertilization, contains the components to constantly improve infant nutrition.

Tal y como lo dice su nombre, el rain maker hace que llueva en un radio de 25 km. Sin embargo tiene una particularidad, sólo funciona cuando es realmente necesario. No puede usarse excesivamente, como muchos piensan. Tiene un sensor que mide la necesidad de la región de lluvias y hace que llueva el tiempo necesario, ni una gota más, ni una gota menos. El agua que produce, además de servir para la fertilización, contiene los componentes para mejorar la nutrición infantil de manera constante.

This is a simple apparatus that can be connected to any type of vehicle and which gives off cells that feed off toxics in the environment, thus reducing contamination. These cells destroy themselves after having eaten all of the toxic substances. And, when they disappear, they emit a watermelon flavour bubble-gum smell.

What this apparatus does is send out a wave which makes us think about whether what we are doing is helping humanity advance together, or only as individuals. How does it work? The Heli-Educator
This kind of helicopter has the capacity to transmit waves which encourage reading, in turn raising people’s education levels. These waves produce a certain addiction, which can only be placated by reading at least ten pages daily. The Heli-Educator works using solar panels and has a flight range of 23 hours.

El Heli-Educator, funciona con paneles solares y tiene una autonomía de vuelo de unas 23 horas.

This machine has the ability to track unemployed people and, using a mini DNA studio, offer them their ideal jobs. It doesn’t assign them, but helps them choose at the start, establishing an affinity in the process. The result is connected to the global database, which allows people to be assigned to different places in the world and, as such, maintain a global community of happy workers.

Esta máquina tiene la habilidad de rastrear personas sin trabajo y en base a un mini estudio de ADN, les ofrece el trabajo ideal. No se los asigna, pero en un principio les ayuda a la elección, estableciendo una afinidad. El resultado se conecta a base de datos globales, lo que sirve para asignar gente a distintos lugares en el mundo y de esta forma, mantener una comunidad global de trabajadores felices.

In truth, this is an accessory that could be added to any of the other machines presented here. What it does is feed off the criticisms that the machines suffer on social networks or any other type of forum. It analyses the comments to see whether they are constructive or destructive and carries out the necessary adjustments. It possesses an open source system to allow it to be constantly improved upon.

En realidad, este es un accesorio que se le puede anexar a cualquiera de las máquinas presentadas. Lo que hace es alimentarse de las críticas que las maquinas sufren en redes sociales y cualquier otro tipo de foro. Analiza las críticas en base a si son constructivas o destructivas y realiza los ajustes necesarios. Posee un sistema open source por lo que se va mejorando constantemente.
