Wine Bar Counter

Corian’s power to create organic forms is well-known.

The design project of this counter aims at being a bridge between the sinuous and free forms and the more rigid and geometric ones. The geometric forms of the base recalls a stone which gradually get transformed into lighter and freer forms which soar up. The counter consists of two different parts which are perfectly embedded one in the other. The back side hosts a big kitchen sink and apposite spaces for appliances and the front side is used by the clients.

In addition, also a wall behind the counter has been designed. It consists of a parallelepiped-shaped and entirely Corian-covered base where it is possible to put fridges and other appliances and of an upper part made of wood and Corian where it is possible to accomodate wine bottles or other bottles.

I also took into account the realization costs: 80% of my project can be realized only using flat plates of Corian Deep Nocturne.
In this way the polygonal design of my project, which is in contrast with the organic forms, enhances and values the possibilities of Corian as an ideal material for this project.
