Introducing: Skully Wooden Stackable Toy

SKULLY WOODEN TOY

I worked for 6 months on a set of 20 hand made stackable wooden skully toys with a friend in his basement.

At the start, I had no idea how to cut wood, make things in 3d, paint. I just knew I wanted to make something special related to Skully with a friend.
Through documenting the process and sharing the struggles and story as detailed as possible, these sold out in a week, with more than half of them selling in the first hour.

Above is a short video showing the hand made creation process.
Each toy is nearly identical, with the exception of his hat.
Each hat has a unique painted design on it.
I made a series of YouTube and social videos detailing the process in 60 second bites ranging from the concept and story, to cutting wood, painting, and packaging.

IDEATION / DESIGN
Every order came with a screen printed yellow shirt matching the skully toy with sewn hem tag.
I prototyped everything out digitally first. Modeling the character in Blender 3d software
WORKSHOP PROCESS
We converted my friends janky basement into a woodworking shop. Basically just hammering wood together on the walls to make it feel less like a basement.
Each toy came with a pin, sticker, and certificate of authenticity. Numbering the toys 1 through 20. This all wrapped up in a screen printed nylon bag.
I'm available for new projects
