A Mokafé é uma marca de cafés especiais produzidos em pequena escala. Em sua cafeteria própria oferece o café produzido pela casa e um menu enxuto baseado em ingredientes de pequenos agricultores. A marca tem raízes profundas no bairro do Jardim Botânico no Rio de Janeiro, onde fica sua cafeteria, por isso elementos marcantes do bairro foram incorporados à identidade visual.

Mokafé is a brand of premium coffees produced on a small scale. Their own coffee shop offers their housemade coffee and a lean menu based on ingredients from small farmers. The brand has deep roots in Jardim Botânico neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, where their coffee shop is located, that's why visual elements from the neighborhood where incorporated into the visual identity.

O logo e as cores

O símbolo da Mokafé incorpora o grão de café artesanal da marca com a moldura da janela da própria cafeteria e a forma de uma palmeira imperial, símbolo marcante do Jardim Botânico, área ambiental protegida que dá nome ao bairro. O símbolo busca valorizar a história do bairro onde a marca nasceu e está presente. As cores evocam elementos que envolvem a produção do café, seu preparo e elementos da natureza.

Logo and colors

Mokafé logo brings together the premium coffee bean with the coffee shop’s window frame and the shape of a imperial palm tree, symbol of Jardim Botânico, the protected environmental area that gives the neighborhood its name. The symbol seeks to value the history of the neighborhood where the brand was born. The cores evoke elements that involve the production of coffee, its preparation and elements of nature.

As ilustrações foram feitas à mão com pastel oleoso, trazendo a manualidade e o artesanal tão presentes na produção dos cafés da marca. A escolha por ilustrações feitas manualmente também busca refletir a raiz artística do bairro, que conta com a Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, instituição fundamental para a disseminação das artes plásticas no Brasil e pela formação de diversos artistas importantes na história da arte brasileira.

The illustrations were made by hand with oil pastels, bringing the manuality and craftsmanship so present in the production of the brand's coffees. The choice for handmade illustrations seeks to reflect the artistic roots of the neighborhood. It’s in Jardim botânico where the Parque Lage’s Visual Arts School is settled, fundamental institution for the dissemination of plastic arts in Brazil and for the training of several important artists in the history of brazilian art.
