SILICON SCARS
The first-person DOOM-like shooter I've been working on during the 2022-2024. As of March 2024, it's in the open alpha demo stage and can be played here. I was responsible for the pixel look of all the sprites, the whole project animation, and mob armor and weapon design.

WEAPONS
At this point, the player has three ways to deal with enemies: the assault rifle, the pistol, and his fist. The assault rifle has unholstering and recharging animations, whilst the pistol doesn’t need recharging.

ENEMIES
The first type of mobs: passive civils, who try to flee away from the player when approached. Since the game is 2D in a 3D space, the 360° turn-around for every creature animation was required. Ideally, every sprite should be done in 8 angles, but for the sake of the production optimization we switched to the 4-angle turn-around at some point. Thus these unhostile mobs are the only ones who have the complete 8-angled turn-around.


Then, the hostile mobs. We needed to create their armor first, and this is where I came up as a concept artist. We wanted armour to resemble the Earth policemen’s one-
-yet be significantly different. That’s why we experimented with some unexpected color palettes.
So here they are, the guardians of the spaceship the player explores through the game.
