Ten Minutes on Eriskay

Ten Minutes on Eriskay
Eriskay is a small but beautiful island off the southern coast of South Uist. For such a tint island it's rather famous and steeped in history. The story that inspired Whisky Galore unfolded here when the SS Politician laden with Scotch Whisky ran aground. The island is famous for its ponies and its Fifa recognised football pitch (which used to have five corners till they removed a boulder!). It's also home to Calmac's Eriskay - Barra ferry. Most of these pictures were taken of and near the beach adjacent to the ferry terminal - Princes Bay, where Bonnie Prince Charlie landed in 1745.
