A Day in a Hide
I recently spent half a day sitting on the edge of a woodland in a purpose built bird hide at Windows on Wildlife in East Dorset (https://www.windowsonwildlife.co.uk).  This was the first time I have used a hide for my nature photography and was pleasantly surprised by the experience.

While the majority of the birds I encountered are relatively common in the UK, there were a couple (Nuthatch & Woodpecker) that I hadn't seen close up before, let alone photographed.

The following images are my favourites from the day.  I hope that you enjoy them.

In total I saw 13 species of bird though I didn't get decent shots of them all.

Blackbird (Turdus merula)
Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus)
Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)
Siskin (Spinus spinus)
Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)
Great Tit (Parus major)
Greater Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major)
Greenfinch (Chloris chloris)
Jay (Garrulus glandarius)
Nut Hatch (Sitta Europaea)
Robin (Erithacus rubecula)
Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos)
Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus)
I was also visited by this Grey Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis).
