Mandal is Norway’s most southern city, with approx 17,000 inhabitants. The town has many small, white-painted wooden houses, which is typical of towns at the south coast of Norway, also referred to as Sørlandet. The city is separated by the salmon river, Mandalselva, but in 2015 Adolph Tidemands bro connected the city’s culture house to the city centre, as well as the old and new part of the city.
