Drug and Alcohol Addiction. Relapse Prevention Center

Specifically designed for college students and young adults  who have passed through the stage of detox and in-patient treatment, but still need the support of a healthy and therapeutic environment in order to overcome the struggles of adapting to society and in consequence prevent relapse.
The design explores the ways in which interior spaces can become part of the recovery process. Based on evidence based design, color theory and biophilic design the space enhances wellbeing and stimulates the user to engage in recovery.

It seeks to use interior design as a tool for reconnecting the user with its surroundings and themselves.

CONCEPT
The design its centered in the idea of seeing beneath a person's surface. It seeks to illuminate a person's inner being in order to stimulate openness, creativity, and hope. Personal and social spaces merge together, keeping their identity while allowing an interface for transformation. The environment and materiality manipulate light, colors and textures to promote well-being and generate excitement for the recovery process.
