A collection of Super 8 filmmakers, artists and enthusiasts were asked to contribute an image or a piece of text to create a colloquial guide to shooting Super 8 film.
With content contributions from Danny Plotnick, Rich Martini, Chantal Partamian, Jessica & Robbie of Dumb Bunny Productions, Phil Evans, Magnus Irvin,Alexander Turvey, Jean-Gabriel Périot, Bill Mousoulis and Alex Rogalski.
Awarded with membership of the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) in 2009.
Process
Created from a single A1 sheet trimmed, folded and hand bound, with excess paper used as a belly band.
All layouts were designed as full scale paste ups, reflecting the analogue nature of the subject.
The glyphs and page numbering system in the book came from markings on the body and focus ring of a Braun Nizo S800 Super 8 camera.
