Seasonal Dynamics of Surface Urban Heat Intensity

I carried out an analysis on Seasonal Dynamics of Surface Urban Heat Intensity in Bosso LGA, Minna, Niger state, Nigeria. Data was collected from Landsat-8 OLI/TIRS images to carry out this analysis for the following years: 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 to see if the pattern is constant. The result proves that a rise in urbanization gives rise to LST, likewise an increase in vegetation density gives rise to a decrease in Urban Heat Intensity (UHI). The result also proved that wet periods can be hotter than dry periods due to the presence of weak winds. This research is featured in a book chapter and you can read more about it here: https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-031-21007-5_14
