To see the window to the soul...
This was a project intended to depict an object uniquely in fifty different ways. Of all the images I'd collected during the fall of 2010, I noticed those most resonant were of people. And most cathartic of a person's expression, is always their eyes. I thought of many different ways to express this. I even developed a diagram that resembled a giant pupil. But then I thought back to a low-relief sculpture project I did in my undergrad, and decided to follow that, which inspire the window design. It was only fitting that the windows of my design would evoke the idea of 'window to the soul' one usually associates with expressive eyes. It was a bit tedious, but I really liked the effect, as well as the ability for the small windows to open and shut as I saw fit :)
