For a college portfolio project, I was assigned to design a visual identity for myself. I decided to use the logo a friend of mine has designed for me, so I only had to establish the branding. I have always been fascinated with history, particularly the ones which took place in the Middle East and Europe. I thought to myself that it would be cool to have design elements from both regions combined and formed into a unified identity. After extensive research, I found myself heavily inspired by the art deco movement, which adds a European touch. As for the Middle Eastern elements, I draw inspiration from the Al-Andalus state in Moorish Spain. Although not exactly located in the Middle East, art and architecture from Moorish Spain has its roots in Morocco. Overall, I was satisfied at how both elements merged.
