Costume design- persephone and hades

persephone and hades
This is one of my collage's group project, for historical costumes, we inspired it by the greek methodology "persephone and hades".

Persephone the goddess of nature and daughter of Zeus and Demeter, was abducted by Hades, the god of the Underworld while she was gathering flowers from the forst. Although she was eventually allowed to return to her mother, she had to spend part of the year in the Underworld due to eating pomegranate seeds. This myth explains the cycle of the seasons, with Persephone's absence causing winter and her return bringing spring and summer. The story explores themes of power, love, and the duality of existence, and has been interpreted as a metaphor for the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Persephone's transformation and her role as Queen of the Underworld are also significant aspects of the myth. It has inspired various artistic works and remains a symbol of the complexities of human nature and the interplay between life and death.
