Delena (Earth 5332)
My very own SPIDERSONA !
Delena (Lena Hardy) is an original character symbolising a version of myself as a Spider-themed superhero.
Costume Break-down:
COLOURS: night sky (dark blue) changes into day (light yellow) from the bottom to the very top part of the costume;
SHAPES: triangular light green feet and chest symbol stand for mountains on top of which is rising the sun/moon, while the stream of dark green spreading from shoulders to hands portrays branches of conifers.
SPIDER: teeth and body slightly inspired by a real-life species: Delena Cancerides which is one of not many social kinds of spiders, symbolising Lena's personality as a super-hero rather working and protecting a team.
MY OWN PERSONALITY:
I wanted Lena's costume to feel colourful, rather then mysterious or sinister.
I decided to use the concept of mountains and forests as that is the area I myself grew up in and feel it influence me in many ways as my true characteristic feature :)
(Overall inspiration for the concept and the idea as a whole comes from the character of Spider-Man and the movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse).
Web-Lock (Earth 5332)
Delena's friend, piece of her story
Web-lock is my personal intake on an already-existing character: Albert Moon and what would have happened to him if he too was bit by a special spider and became the hero instead of his older sister Cindy Moon (a.k.a. Silk).
PERSONALITY AND COSTUME
Since Web-Lock stands for a new version of existing character, symbolising his personality meant creating his personality anew.
I wanted his origin to be quite heavy and his look to be more sinister, while still keeping the "teenage vibe" (thus the black sneakers :)
Logo portrays a spider looking like a key-hole (symbolising his special powers)
Since the suit itself is very dark, in badly lit areas the first thing anyone will see when Web-Lock arrives, is the big, white spider/face on the chest.
Overall his personality isn't as "dark" as his costume though, in normal life he is actually very sweet.
The costume symbolises mainly the pain and heaviness of the responsibility that comes with being a spider-hero (to remind himself of how he was not able to save everyone).
