During a first-semester university project, the proposal involved the renovation of the smoking area at the University of the Americas Puebla (UDLAP), aiming to adapt it to the diverse profiles of users and their various daily activities. Initially, an assessment of the distinct needs of users laid the groundwork for the architectural program. Subsequently, a strategic spatial analysis was conducted to map out the different zones within the smoking area. This analysis considered factors such as sunlight, wind patterns, the movement of both smokers and non-smokers, designated areas for work and relaxation, spaces for consumption and social interaction, and the integration of gardens featuring carefully chosen aromatic vegetation.
