ORO is the first art book I worked as a graphic design editorial assistant. It has a beautiful collection of various fantasy illustrations and stories by well known artist Björn Hurri. The book is divided in 2 parts, with part one 'The Light' starting from the front cover and part 2 'The Dark' starting from the back cover after it has been turned upside down.
The person organising everything regarding the campaign, curated the book design and publication was Spiridon Giannakis; he was the one I worked as his assistant.
Following are some mockup examples taken from the Kickstarter campaign.
First bellow on the left we have the special edition, Oro Premium version of the book, with embellishments on both front and back cover and silver edge pages.
Then on the right we have the regular edition, Oro Standard version, with different illustrations on the covers each representing the 2 different parts of the book. Both versions had a black ribbon bookmark added to them.
There was also an image with a collection of various examples of the contents and spreads of the book provided, accompanied by a few close ups.
Along with these two books people could also pledge to get another successful book by Björn, Abominations, which was also funded in the past through Kickstarter in just 2 hours!
Lastly, I would like to share some personal photos I took of the credits page from inside the book. This project has great meaning for me and this is the only way I can prove my part in its production.
